That is not a typing error in the headline because, thankfully, here in Cambodia we have the unique pleasure of looking forward each year to not one, or two, but three New Year Celebrations, starting with the one just passed, while we still have the Chinese New Year (January 25), and Khmer New Year (April 14 to 16) to come. It’s just as well that so many people like a party around here.
So we thought we’d take this opportunity for a quick peek ahead to what’s reportedly in store for everyone this year according to the different astrological traditions, and we’re pleased to say that on this they certainly agree: 2020 is going to be a great, prosperous and lucky year for almost everyone. We certainly hope so.
Under Chinese tradition, 2020 will be the year of the White or Golden Metal Rat and it heralds plenty of opportunities for finding or strengthening love and earning more money, especially for those born in the year of the Rat: 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996 or 2008.
For some though (Sheep, Monkey, Dog, Horse), this will be a year of transformations and new beginnings. Some will be actively seeking this out (looking at the Monkeys), while Horses might need to be led there. Meanwhile, Pigs can look forward to a year of health and stability. Roosters will have a rather more turbulent time of it, with a bit of an emotional rollercoaster on the way (which could be good or bad). Snakes on the other hand are going to have a smooth ride. Apparently all you’ll need to do is sleep well to ensure that, while your Ox friends will need to pull their weight in order to produce significant rewards. Tigers will also be working hard, while Rabbits are advised to learn new skills to get ahead. Dragons risk demotivation, and should do some more exercise, where they’ll no doubt find many friends, at least for the first few weeks of January.
According to Indian and Western astrological traditions, we are entering a new high-energy astrological era, which some say is a good time to initiate changes and get rid of the difficult things that aren’t working. Essentially, they say, this is the year to build your dreams. So hop to it.
In the meantime though, from the entire team at Thalias, we would like to wish you a Very Happy New Year, and we look forward to playing our role in making sure it’s a good one.
