Arnaud DarcArnaud Darc first arrived in Cambodia in 1994 as a postgraduate cost controller at the Sofitel Cambodiana Hotel in Phnom Penh before spending two years as the cost controller and purchasing manager for Accor Hotels in country.

Having witnessed the encouraging growth of the hospitality industry in Cambodia and neighboring Thailand, he incorporated an import-export and distribution business serving retailers and restaurateurs and created a Franco-Thai fine-dining restaurant and gourmet retail outlet. Arnaud subsequently owned and co-founded The Butler French fine-dining restaurant and Pancam Thailand in Bangkok, the Amanjaya Pancam Hotel and KWest restaurant in Phnom Penh and Cyrano, a French fine-dining restaurant in Bangkok.

Recognising the increased demand for refined and high-class hospitality in Phnom Penh, he embarked on several highly successful ventures. They included the launch of Malis, the first restaurant to specialize in contemporary Cambodian cuisine, the rebirth and relocation of Topaz as a French fine-dining restaurant, Café Sentiment, the first fast-food coffee house in the capital, and Baithong, a brasserie-style mix of French and Asian cuisine.

Arnaud became a partner and Managing Director of two CityStar Investment Fund Company’s managing various real estate and hospitality holdings within Cambodia before founding Thalias, to bring Topaz, Malis, Baithong, a French-Khmer bakery and other ventures including the capital’s first live jazz venue under one management roof.

He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Thalias Group of company’s employing over 500 people, and a founding partner and Chairman of Nimith Capital. He is President of the Euro-Chamber of Commerce and the executive treasurer of the Cambodia Tourism Federation. Arnaud Darc has also been awarded the title of Knight of "L'ordre du Mérite National" by the French government.
