Thalias Newsletter September 2016

Welcome to the September edition of Thalias Newsletter where we hope you’ll discover a little more of what we’ve been up to recently and what we plan to get up to soon. And also a little more about one of those seemingly simple things that always make every day look brighter and every table richer: goat cheese. We certainly can’t get enough of it, and once you try the artisanal goat cheeses we have at Khéma, well…

September is often a moment for new beginnings: new school terms, a new season (in some parts of the world), and new harvests meaning fresh new foods. We’re celebrating that at Malis with a special menu devoted to lamb, which blends one of the West’s favourite meats with Cambodia’s unique touch and flavours. Our Executive Chefs put a lot of thought and creativity into putting together these menus, and we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did. And we hope to see you soon.

Good partners are key to what we do here at Thalias, and we are eternally grateful to the wonderful producers, suppliers and distributors who make everything we do here possible. Good partnerships come in many forms though, not least that between wine and cheese, two of France’s greatest products that, brought together, are a match made in heaven. We invite you to come and explore how beautifully this partnership can work at Khéma where we are offering a carefully selected pairing of cheese and wine for a special price for just one hour every evening at 6pm.

Another long-established partnership found a beautiful expression in Siem Reap last month too, when Cambodian soprano Bosba Panh gave an exclusive performance at Malis in Siem Reap. See below for more details of that stunning evening which raised almost $2000 for the Angkor Hospital for Children’s vital work. We’re looking forward to continuing to grow with our partners into the future, so that we can keep giving the people of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap the very best French and Living Cambodian cuisines that can be found.
