In November this year, Cambodia will for the fist time host the Asia-Europe Meeting, a gathering of leaders from leaders of 51 member states from across both regions as well as the EU and the Asian Secretariat. The 13th ASEM Summit will be held under the theme of “Strengthening Multilateralism for Shared Growth”.
The Meeting is constructed as an informal process for dialogue and cooperation and presents an opportunity for states to come together to discuss and better understand their mutual concerns and forge closer ties in the interests of promoting mutually beneficial multilateral trade.
This is the first time that Cambodia will host the ASEM summit, and represents a tremendous opportunity for the Kingdom to showcase its attributes and potential to a wide range of interested parties.
In addition to the main summit, being held on 16 and 17 November in Phnom Penh, there will be a series of side events including a Young Leaders Summit, a Cultural Festival, the Asia-Europe Editor’s Round Table, and Asia-Europe People’s Forum.
