The theme for International Women’s Day is Better the Balance, Better the World – a concept that we at Thalias observe all year round.
Since inception, we have cherished the value of having women in positions of power, and over the years we have come to reap the benefits of that. We are considered to be among the Kingdom’s most respected hospitality groups – and we have gotten to this position with almost all of our outlets now being run by women. Women hold the positions of General Manager and Director of Operations across our entire range of restaurants and hotels, bar one.
Our stance on women in the workplace is encompassed by three core points: We unequivocally support women’s rights and the global push for them to be expanded and protected; we set standards that empower women to progress and achieve while working within the company; and we aim to reach gender equity across the board, with women filling half of the positions on offer. At present, women make up 42 percent of our team, and we consider this factor when recruiting new team members, with an eye to improving representation of women wherever possible.
To celebrate International Women’s Day and the place of women in our company and the wider world, we present the Women of Thalias, a collection of interviews that will bring you into the hearts and minds of some of some of our valued team members. Enjoy.
